Opportunities to support learning & life chances in Glasgow

One of WEA's adults learners try out the digital version of Counting on a Greener Scotland funded by the Foundation

We are looking to expand the membership of our Board of Trustees, to develop the Foundation’s strategic impact in grant giving to the benefit of students and communities served by Glasgow Clyde College. The Board is responsible for pursuing the charitable purposes of the Foundation, ensuring good governance and stewardship of the Foundation’s assets. If you can devote some time and are motivated to assist our beneficiaries we would welcome your application.

We would be particularly interested in hearing from impact driven, enthusiastic individuals, with skills, experience and knowledge in any of the following areas:

  • Financial management
  • Education and skills
  • Legal matters
  • Fundraising – with particular reference to collaborative partnerships
  • Governance of grant making trusts

Board membership is voluntary and unpaid, although travel expenditure on behalf of the charity can be reimbursed. Appointments are for a 3 year term and meetings take place quarterly in Glasgow, with a number of independent trustees also serving on a quarterly Audit and Investment sub-committee. Learning and development opportunities exist for all Board members, including induction training.

Application notes
